His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
UpbringingHis Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, was born in 1987, he is the fifth son of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
EducationHis Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum graduated from Rashid Private School in 2005 and joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom and was awarded upon his graduation in 2006 “ The Sword of Honor” at the age of 18 amongst 484 cadet officers. His Highness joined a series of military camps as well as leadership seminars post graduation from Sandhurst. His Highness received his Masters degree on Security Crisis Management from the Dubai Police Academy on 18th of November 2009; for his thesis about the management of security and moral crisis, titled, ‘Ingenuity in Crisis Management in line with the Vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’.
Hobbies & ChampionshipsSheikh Majid continuously pursues his various interests such asmhorse racing, camel racing, shooting, football, water sports and culture activities.
His Highness also participated in many different horse endurance races, he led the UAE endurance team to a brilliant victory at the 11th Pan Arab games in Cairo in 2007, winning two Gold Medals in the individual & team events. In November 2008, His Highness once again led the UAE Endurance team to victory in The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) World Endurance Championship that took place in Malaysia and brought back the Gold Medal. As His Highness’s interest in sports extended to football; he was appointed Vice President of Al Wasl Sports Club.
Role modelsHis Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was raised and inspired by a great leader and a Global role model; his own father His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Hence, Sheikh Majid is determined to follow in his father’s steps towards building the UAE’s future today.
